Easy adorable card

Using Stampin' Up! products and just a few odds & ends, this adorable card came together even better than I had imagined. I really like how the Whisper White ink I used when stamping the trees blended into the Not Quite Navy cardstock to become almost a softer shade of blue. If you'd like to see the other wonderful products and projects that Stampin' Up! has to offer, just click on the sidebar and go to my Stampin' Up! website.

New Outdoor Living!

The patio cover has been put in at the parsonage and it's as though we have another room - although we're not hurting at all for space in this place. Thanks so much to Richard, Tyler, and Bill for their hard work in getting this cover in place. Already enjoyed breakfast outside on Father's Day and I know the dogs will appreciate the shade from the hot Texas summer heat!

Made these precious cards, design courtesy of Dawn, at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. It's called the faux grid technique and is super easy! Gonna send one to my daughter as I miss her already. Bee-happy everyone! Check out my Stampin' Up! website for the coolest products and creative ideals to beat the Summer heat! http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/vickiechamness/

Great week at VBS and Missing Dad

We wrapped an awesome week of VBS at church. Great kids, great music, great food, and great Bible programs. Now, however, I'm pooped -- obviously, I'm not used to all the music and recreation programs like I used to be when my own kids were younger! Good way to end the week.

Will be missing my dad on Father's Day -- gone now for almost 25 years and I can still hardly believe it (picture circa 1965). Love you Dad! I am blessed with a wonderful husband who continues to be a great father and have a wonderful father-in-law who means the world to me. Life is good.

Kristina's Color Challenge #55

Time for another color challenge -- love these colors. I used paper from ki Memories Classic Prints Pad, butterfly stamp from PrintWorks, message stamp from Stampendous!, white embossing powder from Stamp Stuff, and Bitty Blossoms from Bazzil, brads and satin ribbon. Thanks for looking.

Happy / Sad news

We've come into the metroplex area for the wedding of our good friends' daughter on Saturday. Just yesterday, we received word that another good friend of ours had passed away. We've know Roger since jr high (me) and high school (Joe). He has had some serious health problems during the last year or so but was doing better and had even returned to work -- not sure what happened -- he lived alone and after not showing up for work for a few days, concerned family members went to check on him and found him already gone. So very sad -- so, we'll be celebrating the forming of a new family on Saturday and grieving the loss of a friend on Monday -- both occasions within our same family of friends and both services taking place within our home church. We celebrate a risen Lord so we know that through our faith we will all be sustained and comforted during this time. Appreciate your prayers as well. We'll miss you Roger.
